Thrasher Research Fund - Medical research grants to improve the lives of children

Committee Members

Two committees currently direct the administration of the Thrasher Research Fund and assure the scientific integrity of the projects supported. The members of these Committees are outstanding professionals who volunteer their time and talents without compensation.

The Executive Committee has responsibility for funding decisions, Concept Paper evaluation, and administrative matters affecting the Fund. The Committee is composed of scientists and physicians with an interest in improving the lives of children through medical research.

The Advisory Committee is composed of seasoned researchers from various scientific disciplines. These individuals assure the integrity of the review process, rank proposals based on the quality of the research and potential to benefit children, act as consultants within their areas of expertise, and make recommendations to the Executive Committee.

In addition to the committees, a dedicated staff of professionals administers the daily functions of the Fund under the direction of the President. Research Managers consult with current and prospective grantees, guide the review process for concepts and proposals, administer funded research projects, and conduct site visits.
